The newest edition to the fleet is this F-85 Club Coupe 442. This car is one of 736 built with a 4 speed transmission. The options it received were the 4-4-2 Performance Package, close ratio 4 speed trans, two speed wiper/washer, deluxe steering wheel, radio, convenience lamps and mirror, glare proof rearview mirror and the "H" code upper body mouldings. It was originally Provencial White with red vinyl interior.
This car was built the third week of December 1964. It was sold on January 8th, 1965 in East Liverpool OH at Litten Motor Sales.. The original owner was Lawrence W. Serafy of Wellsville OH. Mr Serafy is still alive and told me he bought the car of the showroom floor after the salesman told him the car was set up for drag racing. He also liked the 4 speed that it had. He said the cars top speed was 118mph, achieved not on a drag strip but on the back roads of Wellsville. He owned the car for only one year then traded it in on a new car.
The car has its original Protecto-Plate and broadcast card, found attached to the rear seat bottom. Engine is numbers matching, trans and rear are not. |
